Protecting Citizens Who Need a Civil Rights Attorney

The attorneys at Epperly & Follis, P.C. are committed to protecting the civil rights of those who face discrimination. We believe that race, age, sex and other factors should not be grounds for dismissal from a job – and we will fight for justice on behalf of clients who have encountered workplace discrimination.

What Qualifies as Workplace Discrimination in Virginia?

The Virginia Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, age, marital status or disability. The Virginians with Disabilities Act also prohibits discrimination against qualified people suffering from physical or mental impairments

Despite these laws, employers continue to terminate workers, or effectively force them out of their jobs, because of reasons that are not legal. In some instances, employers allow on-the-job discrimination or harassment to go unchecked. Often, discrimination claims are the only recourse for holding these employers accountable – but a successful outcome requires an experienced law firm with extensive knowledge of civil rights legislation and a winning track record.
